Tour & Travel

Man of the Heart has been designed as a portable show with a minimalist set and few performers. That makes it a very "tourable" show that can be done at a minimum expense in practically any small theatre with enough room to project video at a level higher than human height.

The music and audio requirements are spread evenly between live musicians and recorded sound adding unique dimensions to the performance.

Man of the Heart is a flexible production in terms of staging and has very few ‘set’ requirements.  A small and intimate space is preferred for a performance like this; however, it could be put on a proscenium stage with frontal viewing as well, or in a black box theatre with three sides open.

The generic floor plan, based on a small proscenium stage, is as follows:

Technical Requirements:

  • 2 video projectors
  • in-house sound system for recorded audio and video
  • 25-30 feet (x 4’) white fabric that will stretche across the stage
  • wooden door frame (see below)
  • portable 4x1.5 ft double-sided mirror
  • “wall of mirrors” stretching across the length of the back wall of the stage (Mylar sheets or similar reflective material)
  • 4 Hurricane lanterns (see below)
  • basic (top and side) lights with some refocusing and regelling

Most prop items (including Hurricane lanterns and long fabric) and costumes are portable and will be brought to the performance site by the production team.
